Inverter + batteries (no solar)
This gives you backup power: the grid charges the batteries, and when power fails, the inverter keeps your essentials running.
Solar + inverter + batteries
This adds solar panels to charge the batteries from the sun, reducing how much you draw from the grid and lowering running costs.
Which do you need?
If you mainly want protection from outages, an inverter and battery bank is the starting point. If you also want to cut electricity costs, add solar. A load analysis will tell you the right size.
